To mark the bi-centenary of the birth of George Eliot, Sudden Impulse Theatre Company have commissioned a brand new musical of one of her most loved works, Silas Marner. This brand new musical will bring this heartfelt tale to life with new songs as we follow the fortunes of Silas Marner the Weaver of Raveloe, who after losing all of his fortune discovers something far more precious.

Sudden Impulse are an award winning theatre company from George Eliot’s North Warwickshire home town of Nuneaton. They have collaborated with the George Eliot Fellowship in 2016 bringing Viv Wood’s adaptation of 'Felix Holt: The Radical' to life, a production they took to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the same year.
Simon Winterman is founder and Artistic Director of Sudden Impulse Theatre Company set up in 2004. Simon trained at University of Wales, Aberystwyth and Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London. Simon has worked previously on the work of George Eliot with adaptations by Viv Wood including Adam Bede, Mill on the Floss, Silas Marner and Felix Holt: the Radical. Directing credits include more than 50 productions ranging from Shakespeare to Sweeney Todd and a number of award winning productions.
